Dennis

Sadie Hennessy writes: Basset Hounds are famously stubborn and somewhat unruly, and Dennis is no exception. They are guided by their sense of smell, and their unspeakable appetites, which can lead them into all sorts of trouble, and frequent visits to the vet. On one notable occasion Dennis ate a pair of tights, which fortunately re-emerged without medical intervention.

His favourite hobby, besides stealing the neighbour’s cats food and rolling in fox poo, is barking at the postman. Luckily the postman is a dog-lover (even if the dog is not a postman-lover).

I am currently working on an artwork called For the Love of Dog, in honour of our canine companions, who have been life-savers during lockdown, for those of us living without human companionship. I shall be featuring Dennis’s exuberant howl in the soundtrack.

His nickname is Stinkbomb which over the years has been abbreviated to Stinkles.
